1997 Titanic Screen Used Life Jacket!
Up for auction is a Screen Used Life Jacket from the 1997 Blockbuster Movie Titanic. This Life Jacket was used during one of the last scenes of the movie on a dummy that was floating in the water after the Titanic sank. This jacket shows fantastic usage with very obvious signs of being in the water during filming.
I purchased several of these screen used dummies from the Planet Hollywood auction and this is a life vest that came off one of them. This jacket is a particularly interesting one from the lot. This jacket comes from the woman pictured above in the listing. This woman is wearing the exact same clothes and has very similar hair to the lady holding the frozen baby in that famous scene. My understanding is that the people in the water at the end of the movie were a mix of actors/actresses and these dummies with CGI used to give a realistic looking face. I own the baby prop from that scene (it's in my personal collection and will not be offered for sale) and can state that is a prop which leaves me to think theres a chance the woman might be a dummy as well. If that's the case, I think there is a great chance this jacket came from the dummy in that scene. I can not prove this but that is what I believe.
This life jacket is accurate for the time period and is the same life jacket the actors/actresses wore. This item originated from 20th Century Fox and will come with a copy of the COA I received from Planet Hollywood for the dummy lot. This is the LAST life jacket I will be offering for sale. Theres a very real possibility that this jacket might be one of the last ones offered for sale anywhere for the foreseeable future. Titanic is one of, if not, the most iconic movie ever made.
